State flag emojos: coming to an instance near you!

Hi!

mst3k is now on 2.0.0!

Have a good day!

Reporting content can be done by clicking the three dots below a toot, or 3 lines next to the "Broadcasts" count of a user, and clicking "Report."

No user will ever face reprisal for a good-faith report.

Hello!

We have made some more adjustments to the CoC. Notably, anti-bullying and prohibitions of depictions of rape and sexual assault have been added (not that they were allowed before, but we chose to be more explicit).

Please see mst3k.interlinked.me/about/mor for more information.

Users are encouraged to report offending conduct – we're not panopticons and can't see everything.

Hello!

We have revamped and somewhat simplified our code of conduct. The new code of conduct can be found here:

mst3k.interlinked.me/about/mor

Have a good evening!

Greetings!

Effective immediately, "silenced" and "suspended" users are categorised separately to avoid confusion. It is also been made more clear what each sanction means.

See wiki.interlinked.me/page/Masto for more information.

Comments welcome!

We will be holding off until the next release of Mastodon, or several weeks (whichever comes first), to update our software as a cautionary measure, due to the sweeping changes of 2.0.0.

sanguine.merylscarlett.info has been filtered from the federated timeline due to uncivil behaviour.

You can still follow users from sanguine.merylscarlett.info, and they can follow you.

If any problematic users' boosts or such get through, please notify this account or an administrator.

If any administrators wish to discuss their blocks or suspends, they are urged to contact this account directly, and we'll consider third-party neutral mediation on the matter.

witches.town has been filtered from the federated timeline due to the head administratix and multiple users repeatedly advocating extreme violence and armed revolution.

You can still follow users from witches.town, and they can follow you.

If any problematic users' boosts or such get through, please notify this account or an administrator.

NOTE:

Silencing of instances and users does not mean you can't follow them. It means they are filtered from the federated timeline. If you continue to see problematic content from users on an instance, you're following someone who is boosting or saying said content.

It goes without saying that it's recommended to unfollow them if it consistently causes distress.

Regarding rule enforcement:

mst3k will start by using less extreme methods to filter content, like filtering individual problematic users, or instances from the federated timeline for more systemic issues.

More aggressive methods like blocking users and instances will be done if that fails to resolve issues.

anticapitalist.party has been filtered from the federated timeline due to the numerous amount of leftist extremism and advocacy of violence on that instance.

You can still follow users from anticapitalist.party, and they can follow you.

If any problematic users' boosts or such get through, please notify this account or an administrator.

NB: they have had us filtered similarly for a while.

This is not about censoring the left or right

This is about making a place that is safe for our users to be in

Users are encouraged to report behaviour which disobeys our code of conduct (in our about page) for appropriate handling.

mst3k, after reflection, now bans the following content effective IMMEDIATELY, remote or local:

* Promotion of armed revolt, summary executions, or murder

* Promotion of extreme violence (we're not talking Nazi punching here)

* Leftist extremism (our stance is now even harder)

* Users causing consistent distress or emotional harm to others, as reported by users of the instance

We will begin with blocks of individuals and go from there.

We aim not to censor, but to create a safe place.

thanks to some very angry discourse we are contemplating doing it much earlier than intended.

If no comment is received, we will begin revision of the rules in 36 hours or so. Drafts will be passed along to trusted users on the instance before coming into effect.

We are not an advocacy group and aim to remain as apolitical as possible (this does not mean centrist, it means that officially *as a group* we take no political stances, other than stances to protect our users, each of us have our own opinions of course)

Anyone wishing to comment on the proposed rule changes may do so at this thread (please read the entirety of our comments before responding): mst3k.interlinked.me/@interlin
