things i wish was in the matrix

Neo: "Doesn't harvesting human body heat for energy, violate the laws of thermodynamics?"

Morpheus: "Where'd you learn about thermodynamics, Neo?"

Neo: "In school."

Morpheus: "Where'd you go to school, Neo?"

Neo: "Oh."

Morpheus: "The machines tell elegant lies."

@cadey

Neo: "Yet the world outside the matrix seems to work according to the laws of thermodynamics."

Morpheus: "So?"

Neo: "So by consequence this must be just yet another layer of the lie. Another matrix. We are no closer to the Truth™. You know nothing, Morpheus.
PS: And fuck you, this new matrix is even worse than the previous one."

*Neo walks off as Morpheus stares after him having an "ooooh shit" moment*

@cadey
I like it.
I also like the original draft idea of the machines using the human brain for its specific computational qualifies. But the producers felt people wouldn't get that so we got the stupid battery analogy.

@cadey I think this kind of applies to an episode of Futurama too. :)

@cadey I read the Wachowsky wanted to make it about the machines using the humans in the Matrix for their brains' computing power, but execs found the idea too complicated and that's how we got stuck with the Matrix as a negative output battery >.<

@cadey I can't believe people are ripping off big yud on mastodon.

@cadey

it'd definitely explain all the rampant clotheslessness in Zion, if human beings generated a lot more body heat

@cadey originally the machines were supposed to be for harvesting computing power from humans, not extracting energy, but the writers thought it would be too difficult to understand

@ue the studio, not the writers
