As much as I hate the system, their proposals all but guarantee the right will destroy us, and the thing is, with the tea party and small government advocates being a thing, anarchy plays right into the hands of the right, too, and they know it.

@Elizafox see it as fighting extremism of any kind. Its a good thing you're keeping the left in check/keeping an eye on them if they go to far. Better than excusing everything from your own side IMO

@Elizafox we have a hard time seeing anarchy as significantly different from right libertarian. Absolute freedom turns into freedom only for those with power to enforce their freedom.

That might mean pocket communities build up in time, but it also means those without like people nearby are stranded. Overall it's terrible for any LGBTQIA person not living in a big city... and good luck with a migration in those conditions

I totally agree with you that anarchism is the wrong direction. Anarchism isn't the whole left, though. There's also democratic socialism.

Closer to the center, but still left of center, there is what Samuel Freeman calls "high liberalism" (in contrast to classical liberalism). This outlook values both personal freedom and fair distribution of income and wealth. It rejects the right-wing view that "freedom" means low taxes.
