"Is it a misfortune that magnificent California was seized from the lazy Mexicans who did not know what to do with it?"

Was it Trump that said that? Maybe a modern Republican?

Nope, Karl Marx.

Thought you'd like to know that.

Lest you think "oh that's out of context Elizabeth"

"In America we have witnessed the conquest of Mexico and have rejoiced at it. It is to the interest of its own development that Mexico will be placed under the tutelage of the United States."

More fun shit from Marx... I'd forgotten about all this but I found it again...

"It is now completely clear to me that he, as is proved by his cranial formation and his hair, descends from the Negroes who had joined Moses’ exodus from Egypt, assuming that his mother or grandmother on the paternal side had not interbred with a [n****r]. Now this union of Judaism and Germanism with a basic Negro substance must produce a peculiar product."

Ah but I'm sure it's a Capitalist myth.

@Elizafox where's the phrenology? class can be inferred by bumps on the noggin

@mareklach "It's okay because he kinda sorta repented"

@Elizafox No, in fact I am not disagreeing with you that this is an unfortunate side of him, but it’s still good to see that at least he did see things correctly in the end, in the sense that at least he was open to that change, through of course it would have been better if he had it right from the beginning.

Interestingly enough, he had for example, advocated for gender equality from the start, and like racial equality, that’s not popular at the time either, yet he knew better.
