Some EFF people apparently poked me, but the notifications got erased by mistake (sorry).
I'm sorry, I like some of the EFF's work, but in some sense they're a lot like the ACLU and too quick to defend things which in my mind aren't defensible.
Free speech has a place. There's outlets people can go if they don't want to be censored. My server isn't one of them. It's my house and my rules.
@Elizafox I rather admire the ACLU's determination to protect the civil liberties of people that I personally find abhorrent. To be fair, I don't think they would ever go after something like a server admin setting rules on what could be posted.
@Angostura Oh.
There's a difference between public and private zones.
I can't stop someone from holding a Nazi rally in the town streets.
But I can stop them from holding one on my lawn.
Same deal with the Interwebs.
@Elizafox Sure. I misread you as saying that the ACLU would attempt to police private zones.
@Angostura Nah, shouldn't have been construed as such.
@Elizafox What are some things you think the ACLU is too quick to defend? Curious.
