Sooo many people who say "IRC works for me" who don't understand what attrition is, how it works, and why combating it is so necessary. :rolling_eyes:
@Elizafox Yeah, the number of people in the channels I frequent has been shrinking for a while.
@apo Think about this too: only a small percentage of users are developers. Maybe 0.5% for IRC, being generous. If IRC shrinks, what does this mean for the server software in this era of rogue intelligence agencies?
@Elizafox I do try to keep my private conversations to encrypted mails, but... not a fun thought.
@apo Not to mention the black market for exploits and all... and lots of people willing to make chaos for some bitcoin...
